Obelisk Sundial

Obelisk Sundial

It’s been lovely to have the newly restored obelisk sundial back in place this summer.  Watch a video here.

It has 68 facets, 85 shadow gnomons  and  measures time in 131 different ways.  Created in 1630 by Lord Drummond, 2nd Earl of Perth and Master Mason John Mylne III it has withstood almost 400 years of Scottish weather. Come and find out more in the  free information leaflet available in the ticket office.
